Speaker 1:

You know, jack asked a question in our podcast notes of were there any moments where you wanted to quit? To me, quitting was never an option in this and the reason why or what kept me going is that I made the commitment to do the program and to complete the program and if I were to break that promise to myself, then I can break a promise to anybody. If I can't keep my own commitment that I made, then you know any commitment that I would make to anybody else. Why the hell would I push through and make sure that that happens?

Speaker 2:

Welcome back to the Go All In podcast. I'm Jake Fine.

Speaker 1:

And I'm Braxton Cave. In today's episode, we're going to be discussing life updates 75 hard progress and lessons learned so far in 2025.

Speaker 1:

And I always like to start with the struggle or what's been difficult and for me we're on day 35, 75 hard, and the biggest challenge I've ran into so far this year has been sleep deprivation. And, uh, you know, sleep is always the first thing to go on the back burner for me. Um, you know, when the day gets busy and stuff's going on, you know, I just and a lot of it's my own fault, right, I will, I will set up my day to where, if things are going, I'll kind of push some stuff off. And you know, I know that I'll, I'll have time to get to them. But in time to get to them always leads to less sleep.

Speaker 1:

But a cool thing that I got to shout out here is, um, a shout out to my dear friend Kelly Creevey, um Kelly, um, a shout out to my dear friend Kelly Creevey, um Kelly, dear friend of our family. She actually is married to my cousin Connor. Kelly's like the the true North of all things health for our, for our friend group, and you know she's does an amazing job of researching all things health related. She's our go-to and anything's going on. We're like, well, what would Kelly do in this situation? And you know we happened to be in a charity event the other night and Kelly was there and I was kind of talking to her about how I still had to go home at the end of the night and get my second workout in and she was busting me so hard over it.

Speaker 1:

And to me that's good. I need that. I need the people in my life that will call me out on the things that I'm letting slip, that actually have a huge impact. And that's just that's been one of my biggest challenges so far this year is, you know, doing all the things that I want to do that are going to get me to where I want to be, but prioritizing the things that also have high impact on my life. And sleep's a big one. You know talked about it before. I mean, you know, six hours has kind of been my sweet spot. You know, I would love to get eight. I'm striving for eight. I just I haven't figured out a way yet to implement that what if that was an added task in 75 hard?

Speaker 2:

that'd be, I mean how many people would fail? A lot yeah, because I can just hop on your back with this one, because I'm the same, because obviously I get up early and you know there's been a couple nights that I only got three hours of sleep and you know what. The body didn't feel like it. But I know deep down inside it's not healthy, right, and you can only do it for so long.

Speaker 2:

Exactly. It puts a toll on you and your body needs to recover. But when, yeah, when I don't get the full amount of sleep, it doesn't I feel. I don't feel the effects of it, but I know in the long run I will. But my mind does not shut off, you know that's the big thing.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, I'm with you on that about pushing my stuff back because I know I have the time to do it. You know, because 315 alarm comes pretty quick, comes pretty quick and uh, yeah, like I had an event this last weekend and those were a couple days that were test, that tested me and getting everything accomplished and done and not getting to bed until like 1 am and then having to do it all over again, even though it was on a weekend. I did get my sleep in but I still had to get up. You know, four to five hours from when I went to bed Still not enough sleep. You know, I think that is a big, you know, struggle for a lot of people and I know we're not the only ones that deal with that. Right, you know, because I feel like you know you hear this I'll sleep when I'm dead. You know, no, sleep is very you know eight hours is it is needed.

Speaker 2:

You know you. Just you're going to get to that dead point a lot sooner, exactly.

Speaker 1:

So but yeah, I mean, you know, staying on the subject of the struggle you know I've had. You know, you and I we call these test days, and I've had two major test days in the first 35 days of uh, 75 hard. And the first one was, you know, a day where you know work, things got, things got out of control and you know they pile up and you know tinker, some hot issues, and I didn't get home until around 7 pm and still need to get my second workout in my reading in and then come actually coming here to record a podcast episode. And you know it's again one of those moments where I'm like 7 pm I have so many things that I still need to get done. What happens? Neglect, sleep, yep, and so you know you end up pushing through and getting it done but you don't realize the long-term effect maybe that that's going to have.

Speaker 1:

And so my second one was just this last week. You know I've been battling a sinus infection for like the last four weeks. You know, having the kids in school, they bring everything home. You know it kind of ran through the house. My wife had it, the kids have had it. I was able to fend it off, you know, for the last four weeks, battling it a little bit but fending it off, and then finally, my body was like enough's enough, probably because of lack of sleep.

Speaker 2:

Right.

Speaker 1:

And so you know it was. I spiked a 102 fever and felt horrible and you know so I had to pivot to doing a couple of rucks every day, not lifting, trying to not strain my body as much as possible, and you know, this is where, you know, my wife is like babe, you need to rest.

Speaker 1:

That's very difficult for me, you know, and that part of that is, you know, I've I've made a commitment to doing the program, and so you know what I do. I had to restructure what my daily looks like. You know, I pivoted to the two rucks. I did that three days in a row. I had our lady come over and give me a vitamin IV, hit me with the zinc glutathione, a B12 shot and, uh, you know, a day later I'm feeling great back. Um, but a lot of that was, yeah, not just the vitamins and getting that in, but those, you know, three days of prioritizing rest and not overtaxing my body. I think it was a reset that I needed, and so those were, you know, a couple of those test periods where, you know, had I not been on the program, I wouldn't have done it. And so this is where I love that. The program will challenge you to push through things, even when you don't want to, and so you know some people will look at you and be like, well, you're just, you're an idiot.

Speaker 1:

Like you're just doing things to your body that are making you worse off than you would. But to me, no. Mentally I proved to myself that, regardless of what was going on, I could push through that and still do the things that I need to accomplish, and so to me that was a win. Coming out of those test days and I know you've had a couple as well- yeah, you know, first of all, I prioritize a day before.

Speaker 2:

I plan out this is what I'm doing, this is what I'm wearing. You know everything's planned the day before. Every day doesn't go as planned. Um, you're going to run into a lot of things. You know, I ran into things in my full-time job and you know, obviously there's a lot of people out sick and, uh, you have to step in and do their job and your job.

Speaker 2:

And you know it's just being shorthanded where I'm at and just you know work is picking up, it's starting to get busy. It's just, you know, taking initiative and you know, just you know, one foot in front of the other, just do it, get it done. And you know figure it out as you. You know get to your next. You know steps of your tasks and but yeah, that I'm the same way, oh, I can. You know, get to your next. You know steps or your tasks and but yeah, that I'm the same way, oh, I can. You know I have this time to do that. I'll just push my sleep time back and you know that's the it. It's building up your mentality to push through those. You know hiccups and stuff you run into, but I mean you persevered through it and now it's a new day to do it again and, like I said, you don't know what's going to happen that day and that's what you know.

Speaker 2:

Doing the program prioritizing is huge for me and I feel like that's the main thing it teaches you. I feel like if you want to win the day and kill this program and beat it, I think that's the main thing you need to do is prioritizing and preparing. But yeah, I didn't get sick. I have in the past and a couple ones I did before, but yeah, it's just getting through. You know, listen, your body's a wonderful thing, man. It gives you little signals that like, okay, something's not right and you know you can be stubborn all you want and it's going to be like no, I'm taking you down, you need to stop and you need to rest. Um, but yeah, listen to your body. But you, you made a commitment, you figure it out and you, um, you push through. You know, doing the rucks, taking it easy on your body, not straining it.

Speaker 1:

Um, it gets the job done. But, yeah, yeah, I think I'm want to go back to. You know, it wasn't the fact of doing the task, it was the fact of proving to myself that I could push through and accomplish what I had committed to. And so, you know, Jack asked a question in our podcast notes of were there any moments where you wanted to quit? To me, quitting was never an option in this, and the reason why, or what kept me going is that I made the commitment to do the program and to complete the program. And if I were to break that promise to myself, then I can break a promise to anybody. If I can't keep my own commitment that I made, then you know, any commitment that I would make to anybody else, why the hell would I push through and make sure that that happens? And so you know, the the idea of committing to the end and proving yourself right, you know, continues to shine through in a lot of these aspects that we're talking about.

Speaker 1:

What about life?

Speaker 2:

How's life?

Speaker 1:

going Jake.

Speaker 2:

Well, it's punches are thrown at me every day. It feels like that's the thing that benefits from this program too. It keeps me locked in, um, cause, like I, you know, I've I've said I've mentioned before to you, you know, every day is not a not a good day and, um, I'm prepared for anything can happen and I've from before how I used to be'd freak out, you know. But now I'm like you know, I take that little step back and take a second and I monitor the situation and, uh, let it marinate a little bit and um, yeah, it's figuring it out. Basically, but with you know, with the brand and all that, you know, I'm trying to make it grow, trying to scale it. It's just, uh, that, on top of doing this, this helps me out with you know, with my brand, a lot, and that's why I'm glad starting the year off right with this to get you, you know, going in the right direction. But this, you know, like I said, this helps me a lot with building my brand and with the stuff I run across with the apparel, and I've had issues with shipping and stuff not going the way when it's made for me or if I make it, and people having issues and it's like you know, I obviously take care of the customer first, but it also, I feel like it makes me look like a bad person because I gave you a shitty quality product, you know. But make it right and you know, figure it out and fix it from there. I've had it happen a few times and it's like, thankfully is the same person which I was like are you kidding me? But took care of her and, um, we should be good from here on out, figure it out the issue and yeah, like I said, it's figuring it out and putting it to work and going on from there and making sure it doesn't happen again. That's what I love about this program, man it keeps you your mentality, you are locked in.

Speaker 2:

And I told Jackie like after the second time, I think no, it was probably the first one I did. I'm like very OCD and I noticed everything. Like I told her. I said, no, it was probably the first one I did. I'm like very OCD and I noticed everything. Like I told her. I said, dude, I could be walking on the street and I see, oh, there's a screw, grab it, you know. Because I think about, oh, this could go in someone's tire or something like that. It's just crazy what your mind goes through during this. And because I've had voices, I've told her. I've had voices, I've told her, I've had voices, you know, competing in my head like, why are you doing this? You know you're like in a little battle with the, the bitch voice in your head, but it's just I. I love this program. I love starting. I'm glad we did this and I think it's just a regular thing to start the year off right with it every year.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, um, so well, I mean to go back to you know the way that it makes you feel when you know maybe quality is not right or something's going on with the brand, like the only reason you get upset is because you care oh yeah, that's a big part, it's not, uh yeah you know, worrying about you and yourself and your image.

Speaker 2:

You care about the customer you care about them spending their hard-earned money right on my stuff what the brand represents and so when things don't go right, you take that personally.

Speaker 1:

You know for me a couple, you know life updates and you know I talked about the struggles or challenges, but I did have a major win last week. I won't use his name because I don't know if he would want to be, you know, called out, but he listens. I don't know if he would want to be called out, but I had a buddy of mine who used to work on my team. It's been probably six years now. He called me Thursday night as I was driving home from an event and I was actually on the other line with Natalie and I was like, oh man, so-and-so is calling me. I got to take this call.

Speaker 1:

Uh, we talked for like 20 minutes and he called me to tell me how much I he had listened to the podcast or heard the clip on instagram talking about the 143 and setting the alarm on your phone to the reminder to call uh, the reminder that I set on my phone to call my wife and tell her that I love her and check in. And he was like man, you inspired me and I started. I've started doing that and he goes at first. My wife was like why are you texting me at the same time every day, like she thought it was weird and something was going on and and uh.

Speaker 1:

But he's like man, it's been so impactful and I just I, it lit me up. I mean I was, I couldn't. I told him you made my night man. I'm so thankful that you took the time to call me and reach out and it's just a reminder of you never know. You know who you're going to impact and, again, continuing to be transparent on the things that either we struggle with or things we found that work for us, bringing those to light and sharing those. You never know who you're going to help and what kind of impact you're going to have on someone's life, and so that was a really cool moment. It was a reminder to me of like you're doing the right things. Just keep going and spread the message. And some things resonate more with some people than others, but even if he's the only one that that impacted, it was worth it.

Speaker 2:

That's why I enjoy doing this, the podcast, because you don't know.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 2:

Because I've sent I don't know, I sent to you a picture Like Kuwait, how many countries We've had, countries that we've never had listened before, and I was like what the hell? So it's like this is not just, you know, in the States it's all over and that's I'm like dude. Technology is amazing, you know, and that's why I enjoy doing this is putting that little bird in their ears, man, and look what it has done. You know, that's a good, good call to get man. That just that just pushes you to do okay, doing the right thing. Let's just keep, let's just keep this ball rolling.

Speaker 1:

yeah, you know, and then, uh, as far as lessons learned through 2025, I think one thing that's been really impactful is Natalie and I have been having some intentional conversation lately of like us needing to recommit to our focus on each other. And you know, through the first, you know, little over a month of the year, you know we've had a lot going on at home and with the kids and we traditionally have always done a weekly date night just the two of us and just a time for us to reconnect and get out of the house, and and we have really failed at that so far this year, and so her and I had date night last night and on the drive home it was like, hey, we've been off, we need to to, you know recenter ourselves, get back to you know us being us and doing our thing, and so it was good just to reset and refocus and I'm glad that we're on the same page with that.

Speaker 2:

I'm about to say that.

Speaker 1:

And you know it truly is just being intentional and carving out that time and making sure that it's on the calendar, because we both of us, us live and die by the calendar. If it's not there, it doesn't, it doesn't exist. Yeah, and so you know being intentional, you know she's number one for me. You know a lot of people end up putting their kids first and in their marriage.

Speaker 1:

Second, and that just doesn't work in the long run. And so, as long as her and I are on the same page and we're rocking and rolling, life seems to kind of just fall into place the way it should. And so, getting back to our weekly date night and intentional time with each other, I think 75 Hard has played a lot of a pretty significant role in that. I mean, with you know me telling you guys all the things about my lack of sleep and doing staying up late at night, you know, not going to bed together at the same time um, that plays a role.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

You know, cause usually you know we would we get in bed and I'm usually the chatty one at night where she wants to go to sleep right away. Her head hits the pillow, she falls asleep in five seconds and I'm usually talking to her and she's like, would you please just shut up? I'm trying to go to sleep, but that's like at the end of the night.

Speaker 1:

That's my time to decompress and talk and she's like why didn't you tell me this like two hours ago? I'm like I don't know. My she's like why didn't you tell me this like two hours ago? I'm like I don't know, my mind wasn't ready to go there yet, so we've kind of been missing some of that time. So getting back to the weekly date night and the intentional focus time on each other is going to be a big deal for us moving forward. So I'm glad we were able to have that conversation and reset.

Speaker 2:

You guys are on the same page. That's good. Let's see here, man, I mean, the lessons I've learned so far through this, this, this run of 75 hard, it's just. I can tell how much I've changed and she can vouch for me on this too, from the last couple of years, how I've been and how I am. The person now I feel like this program is is building me to.

Speaker 2:

You know, I used to be on edge, like before. I used to just, like I said, freak out on certain things that happened and I'm like this isn't going right. And I'm like this isn't going right. Now it's like this, you know, with with how my mindset is now, it's like okay, dude, this is going to happen. You know what to do? Just deep breath, figure it out, it can be fixed. You know, um, before that I was like man, I don't even want to do this anymore. It's like instant, I'm done with this.

Speaker 2:

The more growth I'm getting from doing this program and what it does to mindset and the mentality I just couldn't be any more grateful to Andy Fur, grateful to Andy for selling, for doing this, you know, cause it is a game changer to start this year off with this program. It is a huge game changer. Highly recommend people to do it. It is a program, not a challenge. It is not a fitness challenge. Um, this is for building that mindset and it fits perfect with my brand, cause it's all about mindset and uh, yeah, it's, it's just I brand, because it's all about mindset and uh, yeah, it's it's just. I feel like it's just going to get better and better than you know. Adding this and to the routine, um, because this becomes routine, right, it should. I mean, does it feel like routine for you already on day 35?

Speaker 1:

yeah, so, but I would say, like what you were alluding to is you know the first couple of times you went through it. You were going through the growing pains. Yes, and now it's like, you've gained that experience, you know what to expect.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

And I think that correlates to so many things in life, whether it's, you know, business or marriage or whatever it may be. Like you go through things the first. You know one, two, three times, and it's painful and you don't really know the next steps. But then you get to a point where you're like, okay, I've been through this. I know what to expect, I know how to pivot and where to go, and that's some of the lessons, the life lessons that you learn along the way that I think are very helpful.

Speaker 2:

Yep, I mean, you got to go through them too. You got to go through them to learn from them, right?

Speaker 1:

So um, we got some exciting stuff coming up yes, we do transitioning again, we're moving. Moving New studio.

Speaker 2:

Can't tell you the location now.

Speaker 1:

More to come, but I think for those of you that follow along on YouTube, you'll see a new setup, new design, new location. So it'll be a little change up for change of scenery. We have some new episodes coming up that I think you guys will enjoy. We have some new episodes coming up that I think you guys will enjoy. You know we've gotten some feedback from some listeners that you know some people enjoy the longer episodes, some people like the quick hitters.

Speaker 1:

So we are going to have what we are calling all-in moments coming to you guys soon, where they will just be quick hitter episodes.

Speaker 2:

Quick five to ten minute episodes. Five to ten minutes.

Speaker 1:

I think that's nice for some people that they can listen to them just in the car maybe going to do school pickup or whatever it may be that they can't allocate. You know, 45 minutes plus to an episode. No, I think no different than us when you're talking about like a Joe Rogan podcast of three hours.

Speaker 2:

I don't, I don't know how people do that. That's a road trip podcast.

Speaker 1:

That's a road trip or like a month long deal.

Speaker 2:

I can do 45 minutes because my drive is 45 minutes to work.

Speaker 1:

Right, but everybody's different.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, man, I mean I'm stoked, I'm ready. It's just going to get better and better. And yeah, you got anything to close out Any of you?

Speaker 1:

I think the last thing I want everyone to hold me accountable to this one is I think I talked about it earlier in the year, but Jesse Itzler does his. You know the big-ass calendar and the way that he sets up his year, and one of those things within that is doing a Masogi, and a Masogi is like your year defining event. So when I look back on 2025, I can remember that, as I accomplished this thing and I've yet to figure out what that thing is for me, I'm with you to figure out what that thing is for me.

Speaker 1:

I'm with you, you know, and the reason why for me is that I know myself well enough now that when I commit to something, I go all in on it, and I've learned that I have more than myself to think about when I commit to something, and so you know, that's where where Natalie and I got to be aligned. It's got to be aligned with what we have going on with the kids. I ran a marathon in 2021, and the time commitment it took to get those long runs in and the training to that it was. I'm in a different place in life now we are as a family, and so deciding on what that's going to be has been a little bit of a challenge for me, but I need to get that on the calendar by the end of February so that I have time to train. Whatever it's going to be, train, prepare and accomplish it before the year is over.

Speaker 2:

Well, you already kind of put it out there Train trained for something.

Speaker 1:

So got trained for something I. I love having something on the calendar to train for, and so I just haven't been able to figure out exactly what that's going to be yet I'm with you.

Speaker 2:

I need to do that. I already got the big ass calendar, just need to do that part. Yeah, you know, but hey, that's a wrap for this episode. Um, if you guys got value from today's conversation, uh, make sure you guys hit that subscribe button, um, so you guys will never miss the episode. Share it with someone who needs to hear it. And if you guys are feeling generous, please drop us a rating or review. Helps us umps more than you know. Keep pushing, keep growing and, as Braxton says, as always, go all in.

Speaker 1:

See you next time we're out of here. Thank you.
